Our History

The Credit Valley Hospital Foundation incorporated in 1980 and immediately began to raise funds to build The Credit Valley Hospital.

The hospital provides a broad spectrum of clinical services including general medicine, surgery, emergency, mental health, continuing care/rehabilitation, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, cardiac services and a network of support departments.
There are four regional programs - oncology, renal, maternal/child and genetics - serving patients well beyond the region of Peel.

Today, staggering growth in this community has precipitated an expansion that is doubling the size of the hospital.

In June 2005, Credit Valley opened The Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre and The Vijay Jeet and Neena Kanwar Ambulatory Care Centre to meet the growing needs of our regional oncology program, regional renal program and our expanded ambulatory care programs.

On June 20, 2008, we broke ground on our new expansion project. A 270,000 square foot facility will house our Regional Maternal Child Centre, Palliative Care Centre, Complex Continuing Care Centre, and Regional Genetics and Laboratory programs.
